How the atlas is built.

We combine official APIs and registries with multilingual web discovery. Primary sources include ClinicalTrials.gov, EU CTIS, WHO ICTRP, NIH RePORTER, CORDIS, FDA 510(k)/De Novo, BfArM DiGA, Companies House, OpenCorporates, OpenAlex/PubMed, and country-specific trial registries (jRCT, CTRI, ReBEC, PACTR, ANZCTR). Web sources include company sites, app stores, accelerator directories and credible news — searched in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Arabic.

Each company is tagged across substance focus (alcohol, opioid, nicotine, cannabis, stimulant, polysubstance), behavioral addiction (gambling, gaming, internet, food), product type, innovation category, regulatory status, clinical evidence level, funding stage, and geography.

Every entry receives 0–100 scores for Innovation, Clinical Evidence, Regulatory Maturity, Commercial Traction and Monitoring Priority, each backed by cited evidence.

Entries are re-checked on cadence — funding/news weekly, trials and grants monthly, regulatory databases monthly, app stores monthly. Field-level diffs are stored so changes are auditable.
